Wright Tour - January 26th - February 5th, 2012

ImageAn American delegation from Colorado led by Pastor Jeff Wright and his wife Janet visited Palestine. The delegation, which was twenty personnel, was comprised of pastors, former missionaries and retired people aged forty to eighty. The main purpose of their visit was to see the sacred sites of the monotheistic faiths, as well as to witness and learn about the conflict in the region.

The group met with Israelis and Palestinians, Jews, Muslims and Christians to engage in dialogue and to hear different perspectives on the conflict.

The delegation visited some of the holy places in Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, Jerusalem and Nazareth, and also had a chance to explore Hebron, Jericho, and Ramallah. Along the way, they met with local organizations to learn about their work, about the challenges they face, and about their hopes for the future.

On the last day of their visit, the Siraj Centre arranged a farewell dinner in the Grotto restaurant in Beit Sahour, where a local dance group performed a traditional dabkeh for the group as an expression of Palestinian tradition and hospitality.
